After winning $100,000 in November, a CNN producer has won big again in the Georgia Lottery. This time Jennifer Hauser of Atlanta scratched her way to a $1 million win on the instant game 50X The Money. Hauser, 29,  claimed her $1 million prize Monday. “I was a little numb,” Hauser said of her recent win. “I didn’t know what to think.” She bought the ticket at the Roswell Food Mart, 5645 Roswell Road N.E., in Atlanta.
When she won the $100,000 playing the instant game Georgia Lottery Black in November, Hauser bought a new car and paid bills. She said she may use some of her current prize to buy a new car for her mother. On Feb. 8, Erik Holmes, 44, claimed a $500,000 lottery prize, less than a year after he won $104,000. Holmes claimed his $500,000 prize on a new scratch-off game called $7 Million Jackpot.
The Home Depot manager was leaving work when he bought the ticket at Ponce Food Mart, 689 Boulevard N.E., Atlanta. He said he used his previous prize from March 2011 to help family and friends. Meanwhile, officials report that the Georgia Lottery has experienced its best sales week ever.
Sales for the week ending Feb. 11 soared to more than $101.2 million, more than $5 million ahead of the previous record set in 2007, according to a news statement.
“Sales were strong across the board with Powerball and KENO! having their highest sales week in Georgia Lottery history. Cash 3, Cash 4 and instant games enjoyed their highest sales week of the fiscal year,” according to the release. ”Instant games led the pack with nearly $68 million in sales. Last week’s $336 million Powerball jackpot pulled in over $9 million,” according to the Lottery Corp

The Atlanta Police Department has closed the case on the death of Stacey English, whose body was found in a wooded area near Atlanta on Jan. 23. According to the medical examiner, 36 year old English likely died of hypothermia and her death was accidental. “The most likely cause of Stacey English’s death is cold exposure (hypothermia) complicating underlying neurological and psychiatric disorders,” said the medical examiner’s report.
English was missing for nearly a month before her body was found wedged under a tree near where her car had been found still running on the day after Christmas.
English’s friend Robert Kirk, who was reportedly the last person to see her and had been named a person of interest, said English had been acting strangely before she disappeared. Basically she mentioned the world was going to end,” Kirk said. He also told investigators that English, who had reportedly attempted suicide three years ago, was “acting peculiar” and asked him if he was Satan.

Another day another Georgia school involved in insensitive games involving slavery. 3 students at an elementary school in the suburbs of Atlanta (Camp Creek Elementary) are telling WSB-TV that they played a game that involved “SLAVES & SLAVE CATCHERS” with their teacher.
Ericka Lasley says her 8-year-old daughter said she was a slave and other students were slave catchers during a game similar to tag. The third-grade student said the teacher proposed the game based on what the class is learning.
“She would sit on the bench and the slave catchers would come up to the door and ask did she have any slaves,” the girl said.
The schools spokesperson said that there was a game, but the teacher did not participate. The school district released a statement saying, “The school district looked into concerns regarding four students who participated in a playground activity. The district determined that the activity was student initiated and that allegations regarding the teacher’s involvement were unfounded.”
A district spokesman said diversity training is planned for all staff members.
Earlier this month, a teacher at Beaver Ridge Elementary School (outside Atlanta but same county) resigned and apologized after writing slavery-themed math questions for a third-grade homework assignment. What happened to letting the kids watch ROOTS instead of playing touch slave games and slave math games.

The body of missing Georgia woman, Stacey Nicole English MAY have been discovered in some woods according to investigators. The decomposing body was found under a fallen tree in southeast Atlanta Monday afternoon.

“The decedent is an adult black female, consistent in age with reported missing person Stacey English,” said chief medical examiner Randy Hanzlick, though it remains unclear whether the body is that of the missing Atlanta woman.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office said an autopsy of the body is likely to be concluded Tuesday afternoon, ending an agonizing wait for English’s family. The medical examiner says his office is trying to track down fingerprints and dental records of English to compare them with those of the dead body.

Some men looking for scrap metal discovered the body about 3 p.m. near St. Johns Avenue at Harding Road. According to residents, it’s an area neighbors often search for items like hub caps or other metal items that may have fallen off passing cars.

It’s unclear if the deceased woman was killed weeks or months ago by the fallen tree or if the tree fell on her body after her death. The woman’s body was found about a mile from where English’s car was discovered weeks ago. English, 36, of Buckhead Georgia, went missing on the day after Christmas.

An Atlanta-area elementary school is in hot water after third-grade math teachers assigned students homework problems that contained references to slavery and beatings, local station WSBTV reported. One word problem said, “Each tree had 56 oranges. If eight slaves pick them equally, then how much would each slave pick?” the station reported.

Another read, “If Frederick got two beatings per day, how many beatings did he get in one week?” One father, Terrance Barnett, said he called the principal at Beaver Ridge Elementary school in Norcross, Ga., to complain after his son brought the provocative assignment home.

“[This] shouldn’t be embedded into a [kid’s homework] of the third, fourth, fifth, any grade,” Barnett said.”I’m having to explain to my 8-year-old why slavery or slaves or beatings are in a math problem. That hurts.” Another father, Christopher Braxton, said the assignment “blew me away.”

Gwinnett County School District Sloan Roach told WSBTV that the teachers, who were not identified, were attempting a “cross-curricular activity,” in which social studies topics would be woven into math assignments. Teachers are encouraged to mix subjects, she said.

“We understand that there are concerns about these questions and we agree that these questions were not appropriate,” she said. A vice principal at Beaver Ridge collected the assignments and shreded them so they wouldn’t resurface, and the administration was working on a process to review homework assignments before they are handed out, Roach said.

ATLANTA: A hostage situation that brought Atlanta’s SWAT team and dozens of police officers to a Buckhead home Thursday morning turned out to be a big confusion, Atlanta police said. Officers were called to a home on Darlington Road after a 911 caller told dispatchers a 19-year-old was being held hostage by five armed men, police said.Channel 2’s Amanda Cook was at the scene as dozens of police officers, including the SWAT team, swarmed the neighborhood. The road was blocked off while more than two dozen officers handled the situation. Around 8:30 a.m., officers took a woman to a patrol car and determined she was not being held hostage, police said.“When SWAT arrived, the female came out of the house on her own free will, and it was determined it was not a hostage situation,” Atlanta police Detective Kim Jones told Cook. Police said Alex Dahm met the group of men the previous night and returned to the home with them. Under the influence of drugs, Dahm became convinced she was being held hostage and texted a friend, police said. They said the friend called 911.“We had no idea what was going on. Kept seeing police pull up. Saw police pull by the house, back up. We were just really confused what was going on,” said Jordan Charles, a man who was inside the house.Officers interviewed Dahm, as well as the group at the home. Cook spoke to people who were inside the home, who said Dahm was snorting cocaine all night. It appears she won’t be charged for the false alarm. There was no crime committed because it came in as a third-party call,” Jones told Cook. But police said they found drugs on Dahm when she tried to get rid of them at the Atlanta police Zone 2 Precinct, where officers were interviewing her. Jones said she had been hiding a bag of cocaine in her underwear. She was charged with possession of cocaine and tampering with evidence.

Update on the murder of Slim Dunkin:Atlanta police have just arrested Vinson Hardimon, also known as rapper Yung Vito, for the murder of Mario Denzel Hamilton, also known as rapper Slim Dunkin.

Another life gone for no reason at all. This looks like a simple case of ego’s getting in the way and just another example of how men are not focused; just distracted and disgruntle.

What adult breaks into a mall to spend $200 on a pair of sneakers? Well these parents/adults of Atlanta, GA are….SMH

Let’s hope these same people who found it sensible to stand outside for several hours and then break into a mall to buy a pair of Jordon Sneakers valued at $200 can find that same drive when it comes to standing in a line on election day to cast their vote, which is priceless.

Atlanta, GA big house, long hallways, got ten bathrooms he can use all day. Roderick Walker is steady mobbin’ through the the high life rent and mortgage free by legally occupying vacant foreclosed homes, and is down to show anyone who would like to get on his level. But first, please bookmark this news story and forward it to Sheree Whitfield immediately. Thanks in advance.

“A lot of these houses are just in limbo, it’s nobody’s house,” said Walker. “The bank says it’s theirs, which they stole it too, it’s fraudulent,”
Walker said he’s helped at least 15 people so far, and most haven’t had any issues. In fact, Walker said several times police have shown up, looked at the paperwork and then left his clients alone.
“I moved here in July, and I’ve had no problems whatsoever,” said Walker, of his three-bedroom, 2 1/2-bath home on Mackenzie Court in Douglasville. It was once worth nearly $300,000. Walker paid nothing.

“That sounds a little too good to be true,” asked Channel 2 investigative reporter Jodie Fleischer.
“I hear that all the time, Jodie, all the time,” Walker responded. “I get these crazy looks on a lot of people’s faces.”
He said with his house, the owners just walked away. It hasn’t even been foreclosed on yet. He runs a Facebook page advertising his adverse possession services, with pictures of beautiful homes literally for the taking. But it isn’t without risk.
