New Movie: KeKe Palmer Takes On Role As A Lesbian Pimp In ‘PIMP’
Keke Palmer, hands down, played the hell out of her role as “Wednesday” as did Haley Ramm who played the role of “Nikki”. This movie touches on all of your emotions, from laughing to being pissed, nervous, scared and then heart broken. Great job Lee Daniels.
(Vibe) Alongside his hit show Empire, Lee Daniels returns to the big screen to executive produce a new film titled Pimp starring Keke Palmer. The famed actress plays Wednesday, a lesbian who was born into the pimp game.
When Wednesday’s girlfriend, Nikki (Haley Ramm), takes on the streets herself, the pimp game gets stronger and ferocious. Eventually, Wednesday finds herself caught in a dangerous game.
In the film’s premiere clip, Wednesday is seen in a strip club dressed in baggy masculine garb, while seducing a beautiful woman. This role is a stark departure from what we’ve seen the 25-year-old artist portray based off of shows like Scream Queens and Jump In!
For Palmer, the current change seems like something she’s wanted for some time. “It’s taken me a lot to come into myself, and to know what it was I wanted to say as this full woman,” she told VIBE Vixen.“As a kid, you’re what other people want you to be and you don’t even realize it. You’re just being a kid. You’re presented with these options and you go with one of them. I got to a point where I recognized this isn’t who I am, this no longer fits me.”
Pimp debuts on demand and in theaters nationwide on November 9. Watch its debut clip below.
